FAQs

Everything You Need to Know About Working With Us

What types of roofing materials do you work with?+
We work with asphalt shingles (including GAF Timberline HDZ), metal roofing, flat roof systems (TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen), cedar shakes, and synthetic options. We install GAF systems, and GAF shingles carry the manufacturer's Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty.
How long does a typical roofing project take?+
Most residential roof replacements are completed in 1–2 days. Larger homes, complex roof designs, or commercial projects can take 3–5 days. We'll give you a precise schedule during your free estimate.
Do you serve my area?+
Yes — we serve Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Our service area includes Philadelphia and surrounding counties, South Jersey, and Northern Delaware. Call us at (610) 616-3626 if you're not sure whether we cover your zip code.
How do I get a free estimate?+
Click the Free Quote button on any page, fill out our contact form, or call us at (610) 616-3626. We'll schedule a time to inspect your roof in person and provide a detailed written estimate — no pressure, no obligation.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Absolutely. ALFE Roofing is fully licensed in PA, NJ, and DE and carries general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We're also GAF Roofing Academy trained, a hands-on residential installation program run by the manufacturer. You can request a certificate of insurance at any time.
What warranties do you offer?+
Every ALFE roof comes with our 10-Year Workmanship Warranty — if it's our install, we fix it at no charge. Materials are covered by the manufacturer: GAF asphalt shingles carry a Lifetime Limited Warranty, and standing-seam metal is backed by Drexel Metals with a 35-year non-prorated PVDF finish warranty on the painted metal system. Flat roof systems come with manufacturer-backed warranties ranging from 10 to 20 years.
Do you work with insurance companies for storm damage claims?+
Yes. We have extensive experience working with homeowners' insurance claims for hail, wind, and storm damage. We can assist you with the inspection, documentation, and supplement process — and we'll communicate directly with your adjuster when needed. We never charge more than what insurance approves.
What payment options do you accept?+
We accept cash, check, all major credit cards, ACH bank transfer, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We also offer financing options including Buy Now Pay Later (through Affirm and Afterpay) and installment plans for larger projects. Ask us about financing during your estimate.
How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?+
It depends on the age of your roof, the extent of the damage, and whether the underlying decking is compromised. Roofs under 15 years old with localized damage often qualify for repair. Roofs over 20 years old or with widespread granule loss, sagging, or multiple leak points are usually better served by a full replacement. Our estimate includes an honest assessment — we won't recommend a replacement if a repair will hold.
What happens after I sign a contract?+
Once the contract is signed, you'll receive access to our customer portal where you can track every stage of your project in real time — from material ordering through permit filing, job completion, and final invoice. We'll notify you by email at each milestone, and your crew lead will contact you 24–48 hours before the start date.
